Governor Phil Murphy is announcing 37-million-dollars in funding for 12 of the state’s counties, tied into the COVID-19 response.  The federal funds are intended to help out in three key areas, including the reimbursement of past coronavirus expenses.  The funding is also intended to boost the maintenance of existing testing sites, and finally to specifically support testing for vulnerable or at-risk members of the population.  Murphy explains the funding goes towards counties that didn’t originally qualify based off their individual population size, although when combined they represent close to one-third of the state’s population.
