With the state playoffs now mostly on to the sectional semifinals, WCTC’s coverage of high school football continues this weekend with more live play-by-play.

Our coverage kicks off at 6 pm Friday night with “Friday Night Football USA” presented by St. Peter’s University Hospital.  Dom Savino will host live from Brooks Field in Somerville.  We’ll have interviews with coaches of all our area teams involved in Friday night semifinal action, including the Pioneers, North Brunswick, Woodbridge, Hillsborough, and Ridge.  Marcus Borden of MyCentralJersey.com will join Dom as well to break down the area games.

Then, at 7, we’ll bring you live play-by-play of the North Jersey, Section 1 – Group 4 semifinal game between top-ranked, undefeated and 2nd-seeded Woodbridge (9-0) and 6th-seeded Randolph (6-4).  The Barrons are led by the league’s leading runningback in Ali Lee Jr. and a stingy defense that has held seven of nine opponents to two touchdowns or less, and five of them to single digit scoring.

During the game, we’ll have live updates from Dom Savino in Somerville, plus our reporters covering Somerville and Ridge.

At halftime, Dom will be back from Somerville with previews of two more area teams in action this weekend:  Bernards and Immaculata, both of whom are in action Saturday afternoon.

After the game, it’s the postgame edition of “Friday Night Football USA,”  with scores from around the area, plus postgame reaction from area games.

Then, tune in for more interviews and coverage Saturday afternoon from 12-1 on “Football USA” presented by St. Peter’s University Hospital, with Mike Pavlichko broadcasting live from the North Plaza of SHI Stadium before the Rutgers-Ohio State football game.
