LISTEN: A look back at the last sectional finals played at home by Sayreville and Piscataway

For the first time in well over a decade, sectional finals in the NJSIAA High School Football Playoffs return to the high schools themselves.

Since the early 2000s, the games had mostly been played at neutral sites like Rutgers Stadium, Giants Stadium, MetLife Stadium or Kean, except in cases of inclement weather

As Sayreville and Piscataway play for state titles today, listen here to a look back to their last on-campus sectional finals.  For Sayreville, it was the 1997 Central Jersey Group 3 Championship game, a thrilling come-from-behind-win over Middletown South known for "The Fake."  For Piscataway, it was the 2002 Central Jersey Group 4 title win over longtime archrival Hunterdon Central, the final game for retiring head coach Joe Kuronyi:
