The top-seeded Sayreville Bombers are on to their second sectional final in three years, and fourth under head coach Chris Beagan, thanks to a 24-14 home win over 5th-seed Manalapan Saturday night.

Savon Kirksey scored two touchdowns and Antwan Golson had a key fourth quarter interception to seal the win.

The Bombers now will host 2nd-seed North Brunswick in the Central Jersey Group 5 Championship Game next Friday night at 7 pm.  The Raiders clinched a berth in the championship game with a 30-21 home win over 6th-seed Edison Friday night.  It will be their first title game since falling to South River in Central Jersey Group 2’s title tilt in 1979, their only other appearance in the finals.

Sayreville, on the other hand, has been a fixture in the finals in recent years.  They Bombers have appeared in the title game in four of their last eight seasons, winning each time, in 2016, 2012, 2011, and 2010.  Overall, it’s Sayreville’s 9th title game appearance; they’re 5-3 in championship games all-time.
