First Round NJSIAA Playoff Coverage on WCTC

WCTC's coverage of Central Jersey High School Football begins Friday night at 6 pm, with a playoff edition of "Friday Night Football USA" presented by St. Peter's University Hospital.  Dom Savino hosts from North Brunswick High School where the Raiders will be hosting their first playoff game in almost a decade.

Dom will breakdown the opening weekend's playoff games involving 17 local playoff teams from Middlesex and Somerset Counties -- St. Joseph-Metuchen has a bye and will open in the sectional semifinals next weekend -- with coaches' interviews and more.  He'll also have LIVE updates from Tim Catalfamo in Monmouth Junction, covering 6th-seed Edison and 3rd-seed South Brunswick in Central Jersey Group 5.

Then, at 7, it's Central Jersey High School Football presented by the Middlesex County Division of Solid Waste Management.  Mike Pavlichko is on the call as top-seed Sayreville entertains 8th-seeded Hillsborough in another first-round Central Jersey Group 5 matchup.  It's the first meeting between the teams since 2005, and first tussle in the playoffs since 2000, when the then-6th-seeded Raiders stunned top-ranked Sayreville and Notre Dame-bound Brandon Hoyte with a 16-13 win at Rutgers Stadium on December 2nd.  That Hillsborough team was just inducted into the school's Hall of Fame.

Throughout the game, we'll have continuous updates from South Brunswick-Edison, and Dom Savino will join in with live updates of 2nd-seed North Brunswick and 7th-seed Trenton Central.  The Raiders last hosted a playoff game in 2010, defeating Pennsauken in an opening round game.

Dom will be back at halftime with interviews and scores from around Central Jersey.

Then, he'll be back after the Hillsborough-Sayreville game with postgame reaction from North Brunswick, South Brunswick-Edison, and more.

On Saturday, Rutgers football is back after a bye week, visiting Wisconsin for a noon kickoff.  Join us after the game - around 4 pm - for "Football USA" presented by St. Peter's University Hospital.  Mike Pavlichko will take you up until 5 pm, recapping Friday night and Saturday afternoon high school playoff action with scores, interviews and more.  Plus, Dom Savino will be back with live reports from Piscataway, where the top-seeded Chiefs play host to 8th-seed Bridgewater-Raritan in a North Jersey, Section 2 - Group 5 opening round contest that kicks off at 3 pm.
