Person Killed Jumping In Front Of NJ Transit Train

There are 60-minute delays on NJ Transit's Northeast Corridor Line after a person was struck and killed while jumping in front of a train. There are reports that he or she jumped off a platform in Metuchen at seven o'clock this morning, going through the train's windshield. The engineer was hurt and rushed to the hospital but the train's 60 passengers were uninjured. Train service was suspended between Metropark and Trenton for several hours and Amtrak service was affected. Train tickets are being cross-honored.
