Amazon shared on Thursday that they are going to start connecting themselves with Entrepreneurs with it’s new Delivery Service Partners program.
According to CNET, Amazon is looking to help people in all sorts of ways, by getting delivery drivers discounted leases for their vehicles, training, and logistics, and adding $300,000 in profit annually to an opened fleet of vehicles. The investment will start at $10,000, according to the report.
“Customer demand is higher than ever, and we have a need to build more capacity,” Dave Clark, Amazon’s senior vice president of worldwide operations, said in a release. “As we evaluated how to support our growth, we went back to our roots to share the opportunity with small-and-medium-sized businesses.”
Many believe that this new move might be in response to Donald Trump’s issue that Amazon underpays the U.S. Postal Service for package deliveries, but Amazon feels that they have helped the USPS, not harmed it.
Clark disputed the comment when asked at the announcement.
