School Bus Safety Hearing Today Following Deadly Bus Crash

There's a hearing in New Jersey today on school bus safety following the deadly Paramus school bus crash.  The Senate and Assembly transportation committees have invited the School Bus Contractors Association and the state's Department of Education to the hearing in Trenton.  Lawmakers on the committees say they are looking to discuss seatbelts, bus safety and want to understand fully what happened.  Records show the bus driver had a history of violations in the crash on Interstate 80 last month that killed a Paramus 5th grader and teacher.
