Audit Shows Transit Workers Allegedly Abused Sick Policy

An internal audit alleges that employees abused the federal family sick leave policy that led to a shortage of New Jersey Transit crew members.  That forced cancelled and delayed trains this summer at a time when commuters were already dealing with schedule changes because of work at Penn Station. "NJ Advance Media" got its hands on the audit which shows the agency has a history of employees calling out last minute.  The audit also reveals a higher cost for overtime for the fill ins and compromised safety because of delayed repairs.  The U.S. Labor Department has launched an investigation.
