Governor Murphy Announces Relief for Overcrowded Bus Routes

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy says hundreds of thousands of bus riders will benefit from new funding of NJ Transit.  Murphy says the 172-percent funding increase for Fiscal Year 2019 will fund 40 additional bus drivers and improvements in on time performance on bus routes in Bergen, Union and Hudson Counties.  Murphy made the announcement at NJ Transit's Central Bus Facility in Newark and encouraged residents to consider new job opportunities with the transit system.  The Governor's office says more than half a million commuters use NJ Transit buses each weekday.
