Walmart is raising its starting wage to eleven-dollars for all hourly employees nationwide, crediting the White House tax overhaul. Currently, Walmart employees make nine-dollars an hour, which will increase to ten-dollars an hour after training is completed. In a statement to employees, Walmart CEO Doug McMillon expresses a desire to "continue investing" into employees with improved benefits. McMillion adds the new lower business tax rates that President Trump and Congress recently approved expedited some of the mega-retailer investment plans. Along with a pay raise employees will also get expanded maternity or parental leave benefits, including a possible cash bonus of up to one-thousand-dollars.
