State Flags To Lower In Honor Of South Jersey Sailor

Governor Chris Christie is ordering all flags to fly at half-staff on Saturday in honor of the South Jersey sailor who died in the U.S.S. John McCain collision last month.  U.S. Navy Petty Officer Second Class Kenneth Smith was among the ten sailors killed in the collision with an oil tanker near Singapore on August 21st.  He was a 2013 graduate of Cherry Hill High School East who followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather in Navy service.  Smith, along with his fellow sailors, was posthumously advanced to the next rank.
