Red Cross: 90 Percent Goes To Relief Efforts

The American Red Cross Chief Public Affairs Officer says 91 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to relief efforts.  Suzy Defrancis made that statement to MSNBC one day after a Red Cross executive made headlines for saying he wasn't sure what percent of donations actually went to those in need.  The Red Cross has taken criticism in the past for keeping as much as 25 percent of donations to spend on administrative costs.  Defrancis said the Red Cross will release more information next week regarding spending on Hurricane Harvey relief.
