A New Jersey man is facing charges in connection with a record seizure of fentanyl, the extremely potent synthetic opioid. Authorities say 23-year-old Yahmire Boardley of Camden was arrested in March for possession with intent to distribute in March. A joint task force of New Jersey State Police and ICE Homeland Security seized 14 kilograms - 31 pounds - of the drug that experts say is 50 times stronger than heroin. The investigation determined packages containing fentanyl were being sent to addresses in Camden from China.
Attorney General Christopher S. Porrino said the drugs seized could have yielded upward of five-million lethal doses.
