Long Lines At Amazon Jobs Day In New Jersey

There were long lines at Amazon Jobs Days across the nation Wednesday.  In Robbinsville job seekers clutching resumes vied for one of 15-hundred open positions.  People were being hired on the spot at the Amazon Fulfillment Center for jobs offering benefits such as health and disability insurance, company stock and a retirement program.  Fifty-thousand positions were being filled Wednesday, mostly for full-time warehouse jobs in New Jersey, Baltimore, Buffalo, Chattanooga and Oklahoma City, as well as Ohio, Massachusetts, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Washington, Illinois and Indiana.

Amazon says it hopes to hire 100-thousand full-time employees, including engineers, data scientists and customer service reps by the middle of 2018.
