Governor Christie is sharing his thoughts on federal funding that's been allocated for a new rail tunnel connecting New York and New Jersey. Last night, the House Appropriations Committee set aside 17-point-eight-billion-dollars of additional money for the Department of Transportation. Christie praised the measure, calling it "a triumph for our region." He noted the efforts of congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen, and said 900-million-dollars in earmarked funds will help begin the Gateway tunnel project. Christie went on to express hope that New Jersey and New York's senators would push for a similar commitment from their side of Capitol Hill.
