Budget Shortfall Delays Property Tax Relief For Elderly, Disabled

Some property owners in New Jersey will have to wait several more months to get some tax relief.  The Christie administration announced on Tuesday that it will delay payments on a property tax relief program as part of a plan to close a 527-million-dollar budget shortfall.  Officials say payments in the Homestead Benefit program will be delayed by two months, pushing them into the next fiscal year which begins July 1st.  The program is designed to soften the property tax bite for elderly and disabled homeowners.
