A nearly 36 hour-long standoff with a gunman in Trenton is over. The suspect, 35-year-old Tyleeb Reese, surrendered Thursday afternoon at around 5:00 pm without incident after police told him to come out with his hands up. The standoff began Wednesday morning at a home on Centre Street, when U.S. marshals moved in with an arrest warrant and the suspect opened fire, killing a bystander and leaving three police officers injured. Nearby homes were placed on lockdown and local and federal authorities surrounded the area in tactical gear pleading for hours for Reese to surrender peacefully. Police say Reese is a level-3 sex offender who had failed to properly register with authorities.
