A former Wells Fargo bank worker from Somerset County is suing the bank, claiming she was fired for refusing to scam New Jerseyans. Melinda Bini filed a lawsuit in Middlesex County Superior Court earlier this month against Wells Fargo and three supervisors at its Highland Park branch, where she served as a former assistant vice president. Bini alleges that her superiors told her to manipulate accounts and encourage customers to buy products or investments that wouldn't benefit them. The Franklin Park woman says she was harassed and then fired last year for failing to do so.
Wells Fargo was fined 100-million dollars last September in a statewide scam that is believed to have affected thousands of New Jersey residents.
