Cranford Woman Escapes Injury When Ice Crashes Through Windshield

A Cranford woman is shaken, but uninjured, after a large chunk of ice flew off a box truck and smashed her windshield on the Garden State Parkway Thursday.  It happened around 11:30 a.m. as Rachel Krasnanski was driving in the center lane of the roadway in the southbound direction near mile marker 136.  She was able to pull over to safety.

Police remind motorists that they are required by law to remove all ice and snow from their vehicles before driving. Those who violate the law face a fine of up to one-thousand-dollars.
